I’ve always been one who has myriad interests. One of the hardest decisions I ever made was simply deciding what I wanted to do in my career. I just had too many things that captivated me! Ultimately, I chose to become a pharmacist, entering into a field in which I felt I could have a positive impact on my community. I worked hard for six years of college to obtain my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Eager to set out and make an impact, I had passed my board exams and received my pharmacist license by the end of May, less than four weeks after I graduated — a near record pace!

My insatiable ambition didn’t stop there. Less than two years after I graduated, I took a director role at my local hospital, where I was a fierce advocate for pharmacists and patients. Eventually, I became board certified in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) — a story for another blog entry.

Since my first attempt at songwriting in the 5th grade, the power of words and their ability to persuade, evoke emotion, or simply convey information has captivated me.

A pandemic and two children later, I have finally elected to follow one of my original passions — writing. Since my first attempt at songwriting in the 5th grade, the power of words and their ability to persuade, evoke emotion, or simply convey information has captivated me. My earliest compositions were poems — still one of my favorite mediums. There are very few other art forms that so aptly convey the complexity — and sometimes ambiguity — of my emotions.

Other than poetry, you may find my political commentary, medical information, short stories, or anything else that piques my interest. You never know with me. Enjoy.

My task, which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel–it is, before all, to make you see.

The ability to effectively communicate is the key to success. “Everything in the world we want to do or get done, we must do with and through people.” Earl Nightingale.
